Different Kinds of Body Wraps


Body wraps are a great way to pamper yourself that helps you rejuvenate and relax at your local day spa. Primarily most body wraps focus on weight loss, reduce toxins, improve skin, help with fatique, arthirtis or immune system. Typically a person will be wrapped in fabric, plastic, or elastic bands to ad tension, heat or keep treatments on your body. Seaweed, clay, mud, herbs, milk and honey, coffee or lotions may be used as treatments to get desired results of the body wrap.

Body Butters

Body Butters like lotions can moisturize and hydrate the skin. Almond butter, cocoa butter, jojoba, mango butter, and shea butter are examples of body butters used in body wraps. Warm body butter is applied and then steamy warm towels are wrapped around the body to create a cocoon wrapping followed by wrapping with a blanket to keep in the heat. The body wrap helps infuse the moisture of the lotions into the skin.

Hemp Seed Oil can also be used with this procedure and is becoming increasingly popular. Along with infusing moisture into the skin, it has anti-inflamitory to help releive pain for sore muscles, chronic pain such as fibromyalgia and arthritis.

Coffee

Hot sheets soaked in coffee is a popular hot sheet body wrap. Coffee has the same PH as skin, which can help even skin tones. Coffee body wraps are known to decrease water retention and firm tissue. Using a high caffiene coffee bean has been known to reduce cellulite. Sometimes coffee beans are ground and used as an exfoliant before the wrap. Sometimes body butters are combined with the coffee for an emollient application.

Herbs

Herbs can help detoxify as well as help with joint and muscle pain. Sheets are soaked in a solution of herbs that are dissolved like a tea and then a hot sheet wrap application to the body is applied to infuse the herbs into the body. Ecinacea, Ginger, Juniper, Lemon Peel and Rosemary can help with detoxification. Alfalfa, Bay Leaves, Burdock root, Chamomile, Cloves, Peppermint, and Pine Needles used as an herbal infusion help with joint and muscle pain.

Milk and Honey

Milk and Honey is a great body wrap for dry or mature skin. The aroma is pleasing and is typically applied as a hot sheet body wrap. Milk has proteins that can help with the skin collagen and honey is soothing with antibacterial properties. Milk has alpha-hydroxy acids to exfoliate, dissolve dead skin to leave your skin looking new. Milk draws moisture to the skin, making moisturizing more effective. Honey has B vitamins, vitamin C, calcium, magnesium, Iron, Phosphoros, Potassium, and Zinc to ad essential vitamins and minerals to the body.

Seaweed

Used as a hot sheet, cocoon or plastic wrap, seaweed body wraps can ad a lot of healing qualities. Seaweed applied topically can be decreases muscle pain, stimulates lymph flow and circulation, and because it contains iodine, can balance the endocrine system. Seaweed can also stimulate circulation and reduce toxins also tightening the skin to help with stretch marks.

Infared Body Wrap

Infared Body Wraps use heat to reduce weight, up to 1200 calories in one treatment! The heat increases blood flow, flushes out toxin, cleanses and tones, as well as improves the skin’s elasticity. Drink a lot of water before and after since you will sweat your way to a more rejuvenated body.
