Facials

Benefits of Facials

Facials are a great way to relax and pamper yourself but they also have bonus benefits of rejuvenating your skin to give you a fresh baby skin feeling. Different facials reward different results, and choosing can be a lot of fun. Here is a list of the different types of facials out at your local salon.

Normal Facial

For people that have normal skin and are looking for clean pores and to be pampered, a basic facial can be the best choice as well as most cost effective. A clean up first starts with a steam to cleanse the skin followed by exfoliating using a scrubbing granule agent. A creamy cleanser is then applied followed by a massage. A normal facial is the same as a clean up but has a longer massage at the end of the treatment. Normal facials remove dead skin, clean pores and remove white and black heads. Ask for hypoallergenic creams for sensitive skin.

Acne Facial

Teenagers are known for acne but adults can suffer from it as well. Acne facials have a good cleansing at the start followed by an enzyme or glycolic acid exfoliation, a warm vapor mist, deep pore extraction ending with an anti-acne mask. Acne facials should be repeated every two weeks until desired results are attained.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels will "peel" off the dead skin on the epidermis and leave a fresh new skin look. Chemical peels can be AHA glycolic acid or other methods mentioned on our chemical peel page. Chemical peels can remove fine lines and wrinkles, and can reduce hyperpigmentation.

Enzyme Peels

Enzyme peels will "peel" off the dead skin on the epidermis and leave a fresh new skin look. Most enzyme peels are derived from enzymes in the pineapple, papaya or pumpkin. Along with getting rid of dead skin it also helps with acne, fine lines and wrinkles, age spots, as well as adding nourishment of vitamins and minerals into the skin. Enzyme peels are less strong than chemical peels and can be done at the day spa or at home.

Collagen Facials

Collagen is a naturally occuring protein found in skin, tissues and bones and is responsible for skin structure and strength. Collagen facials repair the damage caused by environmental damage and sun. Wrinkles and dark circles can be reduced with a collagan facial. The facial starts off with a cleanser and exfoliant followed by a massage with collagen cream. Then a collagen facial mask should be left on for about 30 minutes to receive the full effect. To upkeep the maintenance, collagen cream can be applied nightly.

Anti-Oxidant Facials

People that love the outdoors should frequent the spa for anti-oxidant facials. The same benefits that antioxidant foods can deliver to your body can fight free radicals on your skin to add vital vitamins like Vitamin A, Beta-Carotene and Vitamin E. Collagen facials can help reduce wrinkles and dark under eye circles.

Paraffin Facials

Paraffin can be applied over rejuvinating creams to help lock in the nourishment. Paraffin is applied over gauze and can be added to most facial masks.

Dermplaning Facial

Dermaplaning uses a number 10 surgical blade that exfoliates the dead skin and gets rid of the vellus hair on your face. Dermaplaning can be used before a skin treatment to allow for better penetration of the products.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a procedure that uses chrystal flakes to exfoliate the skin. Microdermabrasion can be used before a skin treatment to allow for better penetration of the products.
